Girl's Camp

Jesikah spent the past week at our church's Girl's Camp.  This was her first time going to camp, and also her first time being away from home for more than one night (I believe).  She is pictured above with her good friend, Pramika (middle) and another good friend, Yuklin (left).   Jesikah left Tuesday, June 14th, and just got back yesterday afternoon.  All of the pictures are stolen from my friend, Elke's, facebook page. :) (Thanks Elke) Jesikah came back with her camera and not one picture on it. :(

These pictures were taken the morning that they left.  They arrived at the church at 7:30am.  It was a strange morning for us because Alex had to be at the Nashville airport at 5:30am where he was flying out to see his grandparents with his flight leaving at 6:30am.  Jesikah needed to be at the church at 7:30am, Tessa had Camp Invention at 8:00, and Jarem had a dentist appointment in Nashville at 8:30am.  (These type of schedules are happening to us more and more lately).  As it turned out, my dear friend, Priya, graciously offered to take the both girls since her 2 girls were also going to the same places at the same times.  We said lots of goodbyes and left at 4:30am and headed to the airport and then Jarem's dentist appointment (more on that in another post).
Although it rained and thunderstormed nearly everyday of camp, she had a leaky tent, a really bad stomach ache kept her up one night and made her cry, and a few friend situations made her sad, but regardless, Jesikah was a trooper and still had a good time.  She said the good outweighed the bad.  The kids and I went up to skit night with Priya and Divya and we had a good time on Wednesday night.

Gabby will be heading to her first girls camp in a few short weeks. Wonder how that will go? I'm glad that Jesikah was still able to have a good time. A bunch of girls that age all together is a recipe for at least some drama ;)
