Summer

Just a few random pictures of things that have been going on this summer.

An interesting green butterfly Eric found on the side of our garage

Yummy chicken and broccoli alfredo that Sister Warren brought the kids while Tessa was in the hospital
And check out this Jello that she brought them...that takes hours!!

Our kids favorite breakfast: Raspberry Almond Crepes
My friend, Marti, suggested that we try this sunflower cake on Pinterest, so we bought cheap Peeps after Easter

It is a chocolate cake made from scratch.  Jesikah made it 100% and we took it to a BBQ with friends
Funny squirrel that climbed all the way to the top of our house on the brick and them jumped down 3 stories!
Was entertaining for the kids.

Jarem has enjoyed the Magic Tree House books this summer but insists on reading them in order. He usually falls asleep after reading for awhile much like his mama! Reading puts me to sleep!

As you can see, our rose of sharon tree that we just planted on the right is nearly dead (completely dead now). That is a cursed spot. Remember the spiral shrubs?

Look way down on that person in the garden box.  That is Alex.  We hired him to be our gardener this summer.  He has been very diligent about planting, weeding and watering all our plants.

What a neat butterfly! I have never seen one like it! That is such a cute sunflower cake- what a cute idea! That is cool you hired Alex as your gardener. I think hard work is good for kids (and adults) to learn, and u am sure he feels good about earning some money too! All that experience will come in handy when he has his own house to tend to one day!
