Skiing

Thursday night, we headed back to Salt Lake and checked into our hotel.  Candace and Aaron and their family also stayed at the same hotel, so that made it a lot more fun.  We all had breakfast together every morning and had dinner and games together in the evenings.  We have always been close to them, and our kids line up in age pretty well.  It is always so great to be with them.

Friday morning, Eric, I, our kids, Aaron, James and RaTray all met at the Brighton Ski Resort.  We spent the day skiing and snowboarding.  It was an awesome, magical day.  I haven't skied in probably 16-17 years, and I STILL remembered how!!  It was a lot of fun.

Jesikah, Tessa, and Jarem had never skiied before.  We enrolled them all for 2-hour lessons in the morning.  By the time their lessons were done, they were pretty darn good at skiing.  It was quite amazing really.  The girls could go down all the easy runs on their own and some intermediate.  Jarem and I went down the bunny slope several times, but once he got the clips on the front of his skis to hold the tips together, he did AWESOME!  We all went down an easy run together.  Jarem only fell twice.  It was such a fun thing to do as a family.  Alex, Eric, Aaron, James, and RaTray all snowboarded and the rest of us skied.  RaTray was a real trooper for her first time snowboarded.

This is a picture of some of the mountains we saw while on the lift.  It was so majestic!

Another picture from the lift.  It just so happened that one of the times Alex and went up the lift, the girls ski class was right in front of us, so the girls were on the chair right in front.  Unfortunately, this was also the time that I dropped my pole while taking the picture!!!

The weather was warm, almost too warm.  The girls got very sunburned on their faces, especially Jesikah!!  I felt bad that we hadn't been prepared with sunscreen.  Towards, the end of the day it was starting to get slushy, but that didn't dampen the fun.

This picture was that evening when we got back to the hotel.  I looked at the sign and saw the had just recently painted the yellow curb.  Immediately I thought I better point this out to Tessa.  But I was too late, she had already walked right through it not even noticing the sign.  See those 3 footprints, yep, that's hers!
