General Conference

We had tickets for 3 sessions of General Conference: Saturday Afternoon, Saturday Evening (priesthood), and Sunday Afternoon.  Saturday Afternoon, we didn't get there early enough and had to wait in a long line to get in.  We got smart with the other two and got there earlier and were able to walk right in.  We had AWESOME seats!!  It was amazing experience.  Many thanks to my brother Joel and his wife Cindy for keeping Jarem during the conference sessions.  Only age 8 and over were allowed in the conference.

Waiting in line Saturday with my mom.  We had an extra ticket since Jarem couldn't go.  You can see Tessa's sunburned face.  Alex's nose only got sunburned because he wore a ski mask.  Jesikah got burned the worst and she turned her head when I took the picture because she was embarrassed.  She said her face was like a red ripe cherry, and it was pretty accurate really.

This was Sunday afternoon session.  I liked the orange background too.  We got there early and walked right in.  When we first got there, the Tabernacle Choir was practicing.  We were much closer the second day because we got in the very front of our section.

A gorgeous picture of the Salt Lake temple.

Sunday evening after conference, we enjoyed a wonderful Sunday dinner with all my family at my brother Joel's house.  It really hit the spot to have a delicious home-cooked meal after being on vacation for a few days.  Just being there in their beautiful home with good food and lots of family was such a great feeling.  We really appreciate all of our family who made the time and sacrifice to come and spend time with us while we were there.  And, also to Joel and Cindy for opening their home to all of us!  I feel very lucky to have a family that enjoys being together.

On our way back to the hotel that night, Eric drove us up close to the Jordan River temple.  This is the temple Eric and I were married in, so it holds a special meaning for us.  I don't think our kids have ever seen it up close.  It was neat to be able to revisit the place we got married 18 years ago and relive some of those memories and to still be happily married.  It was also neat to share that with our kids now.
