Heading Home

On the third morning in Gatlinburg, we woke up early to beat the crowds because we wanted to go out to breakfast at a pancake house.  There were lots to choose from, but I narrowed it down to the Log Cabin Pancake House (which I didn't get any pictures of).  An unexpected surprise was getting to see this beautiful sunrise!!  It was breathtaking!

After a delicious breakfast, we headed back to the cabin to finish packing up.
Outside our cabin before leaving

And a few more pictures of our back view before heading out.

After 5 hours in the car, we were all ready to be back home.  Alex and Jarem immediately were back up to their wrestling around on the big beanbag chair.

Alex pretending that nothing was going on.
We had an early dinner, and after a nap, everyone except Jarem, Jesikah, and my parents headed out to youth night at the church.  Jesikah didn't want to go because we were playing volleyball and she hates volleyball.  Anyway, it turned out to be glow in the dark volleyball and I told her no one would have seen her anyway.  But, Alex loved it and Tessa had a movie night for Activity Day girls.  It was funny cause she said they watched, "Saturday's Warrior" and she wasn't expecting it to be a musical.  Jarem and Jesikah had a good last night with grandma and grandpa.  The following morning, my loving husband drove them to the airport leaving our house at 4am to catch their 6am flight and let me sleep in.  We sure had a great time with them, and can't wait until they come back!! :)

The chairlift looks fun. My kids would have loved to ride the scooters down. It looks like the foliage there is a little later this year, just like here.

There is no way we can thank you enough for the wonderful time you showed us when we were with your family. The great Smokey Mountains were amazing and beautiful. We had such a good time with you, Eric and all the kids. Thank you. Thank you.
