Passed Driver's Education!!

While we were having Jarem's birthday party, Jesikah was FINALLY out taking her driver's test. She took driver's education clear back during Christmas break and did her first 4 hours driving with the instructor. She had 2 hours left of driving instruction including the driving test in order to complete the course. She wasn't able to complete her last 2 hours during Christmas break and she was supposed to arrange another time with the instructor for the last 2 hours.

Once school started, I would call the instructor and get her voice mail EVERY TIME. I would leave a message and never get a call back. This went on for MONTHS! Everytime I would think about it, I would call and get her voicemail. In the meantime, we were driving all the time. In Tennessee, driver's education is not required, but you have to have 50 hours of experience driving with a licensed driver including at least 10 hours at night. I told Jesikah it was just an estimate, but she insisted on keeping track of EVERY hour. It's like pins and needles the whole time, gripping the arm rest, pumping your non-existent brake, calling attention to imminent danger while trying not to panic, only to realize that your life is helplessly and completely in the hands of this inexperienced teenage driver.

But, as you can see, there is hope. I finally had to leave a few urgent, "going to call your company to report you", kind of messages within a couple days and low and behold, SHE CALLED BACK! Jesikah finally passed the course!!! And we couldn't be happier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It always amazes me how many people never respond to their voicemails! That is annoying. I'm glad it all ended well.
