Soccer Game Day!

In an effort to get the kids involved in something right away, we signed Alex, Jesikah, and Tessa up for the Montgomery County Soccer Association. It is a recreational (non-competitive) soccer league, much like Tumwater Soccer Club (for my Washington friends). The kids do each have one practice a week, each child at a different location, but the great thing about this club is that all the games are at the same place (at a huge sports park), and they are all on Saturday mornings/early afternoon. Today was our first game day. It was crazy and HOT, but fun to watch the kids. Alex had games at 9 and 11, Tessa also had a game at 11, and Jesikah had one at 12:30, so we didn't make it out until about 2:00pm.

Alex found out that one of his new friends from school is on his team, so that was a nice surprise. He had a good time getting back into soccer. He loves it. The girls enjoyed playing too, except for the heat, of course. So much for Fall coming...it was up in the high 90's with the humidity in the high 90's too. We about died of heat exhaustion! We were all sweaty and sunburned by 2:00, but we all survived without too much damage. Eric and the kids went to the pool to get cooled off afterwards while Jarem napped.

We took some more pictures the next week of the kids playing soccer. Eric used the bigger lens this time and got some good action shots. It was much cooler this week. We've had highs in the low to mid-80's. It feels good after all the heat of the summer. I think they enjoyed playing even more in the more moderate temperatures...I know I enjoyed watching MUCH more. I hope we don't bore you with all these soccer pictures. We'll try to lay off now a little.
