San Francisco Part 3

The day after Susan and Scott left, Eric had a two hour lunch break, so we decided to take a trolley down to pier 39 for lunch.  Eric had been jealous of my clam chowder in a bread bowl a few days previous while he was in class.  So we headed to Boudin Sourdough Bakery to get some lunch.  Eric got his clam chowder in a bread bowl and I had a turkey guacamole sandwich.  We both enjoyed our lunch.  Then we shopped a little and found the same Mitchell's ice cream place.  We enjoyed some ice cream and we returned so Eric could go to his last 2 hours of class for the day.

Later, after Eric finished his class, we went back to the pier to catch a ferry to Sausalito for dinner. Earlier, we had checked the ferry return schedule, but we forgot to check the departures and we had missed the last ferry by about 30 minutes. We made a quick change of plans and decided to have dinner at Alioto's. This was another place we had wanted to try and it was just across the way. We enjoyed seafood with a good view of the ocean and more sourdough bread. Then we walked around the pier and took a few pictures before heading back.

This same macaroni that we got a picture by earlier had words on it this time "You know you love it".

I love these pictures of the boats at sunset...it was a pretty evening.

The next day, Wednesday, was our last full day in SF before leaving Thursday morning.  Eric had only a couple of hours of class-time in the morning and finished his class around 10:30.  This was great because it gave us a long time to take the ferry to Sausalito, eat lunch, shop, walk, and head back in time to change and make it to Wicked that night.  The day went perfectly.  It was the warmest day of the week with highs around 83.  It was nice to have it a little warmer out for the ferry ride.  It was beautiful and we completely enjoyed our afternoon together in Sausalito.  Below are some pictures of the Bay Bridge that I took before and during the ferry ride.  I love photographing bridges.

Below are some of the buildings on Market Street:

Alcatraz as we got very close to it on the ferry ride

The following pictures are looking back at SF from the ferry:

What a beautiful day it was!

That's funny about the words on the macaroni. I wonder if we just hadn't noticed them because they were on the other side? The ferry ride sounded fun. If we are ever in SF again we'll have to try it. Of course you had hot weather AFTER we left ;) We just couldn't catch a break this summer.
