Sunshine, perfect temperatures, swimming, Disney, Harry Potter, visiting with family, the Orlando temple, white sandy beaches, surfing...sound like the recipe for a perfect vacation? It was! We had such a good fall break last year in Florida that we decided to make it a tradition and go again. This time we invited Kyle and Jessica to come along. Also, another of Eric's brothers, TJ, his wife, and their 2 kids recently moved to Florida, so they were able to join us for part of the time. In addition, Eric's mom graciously offered a house( that she and her husband recently inherited) for our Florida visits (which is only 20 minutes from Disney)!!
The kids had their school Fall Break last week. This year we did it a little differently. Rather than spending all week at Disney, we fit in a few other things too. Here's how it worked...we left home late Saturday afternoon because we had to stay for soccer games. Eric (bless his heart) drove 11 hours straight through and we arrived at his grandma's house about 4:30am (5:30am Eastern time) Sunday morning. He was able to stay awake while driving as long as he listened to his Ipod. (I love that thing!) We slept in and spent the day with Kyle, Jessica, TJ, Sunny, their kids, and Eric's Grandma Guelde.
Here's how we broke it down:
Monday: Magic Kingdom
Tuesday: Universal's Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Wednesday: Epcot
Thursday: Orlando temple and back to G Guelde's
Friday: Golfing, shopping, swimming, and Grandma's birthday party
Saturday: New Smyrna Beach
Sunday: Drive back home
We left Saturday, October 9, and got back Sunday, October 17th. I'll break it down in probably 4 posts to cover everything.
